Highland Road Conditions Report – Tuesday, 12 December 2023
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Reports for Tuesday, 12 December 2023 are as follows:
Caithness
08:34 – There is black ice present in parts of the county and treatment is ongoing where necessary.
Nairn
08:27 – Treatment has taken place for ice in some areas. Otherwise, the area has wet roads but positive temperatures.
Sutherland
07:49 – There are some routes in the North which are affected by icy stretches and are being treated as necessary.
Inverness
06:51 – Temperatures are lower than forecast with some routes affected by ice. Treatment has taken place on the Drumnadrochit to Cannich Road, and other routes have been checked for condition and treatment as necessary.
Other areas
Before 9am – Reports noted that roads were damp but there were no winter issues or treatment needed in the Skye and Raasay, Lochaber, Badenoch and Strathspey, and Ross and Cromarty areas.
