Highland Winter Road Conditions Report - 12 February 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Monday, 12 February 2024 are as follows:
Ross and Cromarty East
08:56 - A frosty start to the day but roads generally dry. Icy patches formed at areas where seepage from verges and fields etc. made its way onto the road. A precautionary light treatment given to all priority 1 and 2 roads and any other roads with known drainage issues checked and treated where necessary. No known issues.
Nairn
09:21 – Frost patches with the odd ice patch. Primary and Secondary routes treated as well as foot paths. No known overnight issues.
Badenoch and Strathspey
09:21 - Roads damp with some ice and frost patches. Treating Primary and Secondary routes. No known problems.
Lochaber
08:23 - Wet roads with road surface temperatures above zero. No issues reported overnight.
Caithness
07:55 - A mix of dry and damp roads. Main roads mostly clear with priority 2 roads having a good sparkle and some icy stretches. Treatment on-going. Footpaths are being treated where required. No known overnight issues to report.
Sutherland
08:30 - Damp and dry roads with an odd sparkle on most of the routes. All treated accordingly. No known overnight issues.
Inverness
06:12 - Grey frost on roads. Gritters starting to treat all routes.
