Highland Winter Road Conditions Report - 23 February 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Wednesday, 23 February 2024 are as follows:
08:46 - Sutherland - A very slight cover of snow on higher ground and some icy stretches. Roads being treated as necessary.
08:33 - Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh - Snow across the higher areas first thing this morning. Several Strategic A class roads being treated this morning. All roads passable. No reported overnight winter issues
08:11 - Inverness - Low road surface temperatures this morning with mostly dry roads, Covering all routes. No known issues
08:10 - Caithness - Low road surface temperatures and patches of white frost on Primary and Secondary routes, treating all routes as necessary. No known issues.
07:34 - Lochaber - Temperature slightly higher than forecast, wet/ damp roads, some snow on the high part of the A884 bladed and treated, no problems overnight
07:22 - East Ross-Shire - A frosty start to the day. Roads are generally dry with a touch of hoar frost but potential for ice on any areas with water on the road. All priority 1 and 2 roads are being given a precautionary treatment and any known wet areas on the rest of the network will be checked and treated as necessary.
07:18 - Skye and Raasay - Road temperatures higher than forecast. No overnight issues to report.
06:44 – Badenoch and Strathspey - Mixture of dry and wet roads with frost and ice throughout the area this morning. Primary and Secondary routes being treated this morning. No known overnight issues.
06:43 - Nairn - Dry roads on lower routes with frost patches. High routes wet with ice patches. Primary and Secondary routes being treated this morning. No known overnight issues.
