Chair confirms dates for thermal trial
The Chair of The Highland Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee has confirmed details of a trial, to start next week, of a thermal process for carrying out pothole repairs.
An external contractor, Thermal Road Repairs, has been appointed to undertake the work using a thermal repair process. The process uses existing material on site which is recycled and added to as necessary to provide a permanent fix to potholes.
Chair, Councillor Ken Gowans said: “I look forward to seeing the results of these trials and the feedback will be very helpful when we consider best options for more repair works to be carried out across the Highlands.
The trial will start in Thurso on Monday 11 March before the team move to Dingwall on Friday 15 March. They will then work in Inverness from Wednesday 20 March until Monday 25 March before travelling to Fort William on Tuesday 26 March where they will be based for 4 days. Weekend work is excluded from these dates.
