-  PLUS Service changes effective from 20 May 2024 - 

From today, Monday 20 May, The Highland Council’s In-house bus service will be operating two additional public services.

• Services 21C/21F/121 – Fortrose – Cromarty – Culbokie – Dingwall (Mondays to Fridays)
• Service 311 – Cabrich – Foxhole – Kiltarlity – Dingwall (Saturdays only)

Chair of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Councillor Ken Gowans said: “As highlighted in the report that went to our committee recently, the in-house bus team continue to deliver savings and work towards developing a valued and reliable service.”

Earlier today, local councillors Sarah Atkin and Morven-May MacCallum were in Cromarty for the launch of the new Black Isle to Dingwall service.

Councillor Sarah Atkin said: “Better bus services was one of my priorities when campaigning so it’s fantastic to see this route operated by the publicly owned Highland Buses.  One small, but important step.

“More widely, the Highland bus service pilot is proving a success, with spin-off benefits, like more affordable travel hire for our schools.  This is all for the good.”

Timetables for both of these new services will soon be available on the Council’s website

The closed school contracts (for entitled pupils only) from Ferness – Lethen – Kingsteps to Nairn Academy and Nairn (Lochloy) to Auldearn Primary will also be operated by Highland Council Buses from today.

In another change to the services delivered by the In-house bus team, the 302 Foyers – Inverness service which has been successfully delivered by Highland Council Buses since January 2023, will now be provided by Stagecoach. Now called Service 16, the timetable is very similar to the present one, with full details available on the Stagecoach website.

The Highland Council Whitebridge – Inverness service is unaffected.
