Highland Council’s Amenities Team landed a Gold Award at the recent Association for Public Sector Excellence awards, held in Aviemore.

The team picked up the Gold award for its ‘Parks, Grounds, and Street Scene’ in the Striving For Excellence category. The award recognised the team’s work and deliverables within the Amenities Review.

The team had been shortlisted for a Silver APSE Award in the Striving For Excellence category. All Silver Award organisations for the ‘Parks, Grounds & Street Scene’ section also compete for the Gold Award. This involved an interviewed by the APSE award panel and Highland Council was awarded Gold.

Amenities Service Manager, Debbie Sutton, attended the awards ceremony and formally accepted the Gold award on behalf of the team.

Caroline Campbell, Highland Council’s Head of Community Operations & Logistics, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the APSE award and represents prestigious recognition for the hard work done by the whole team as part of our Amenities Review.”

The APSE Awards provide an opportunity for Scottish local authorities to demonstrate how they are going above and beyond when delivering fleet, waste and grounds services for their local communities.

The Gold Award winners were announced at the APSE Scotland Fleet, Waste and Grounds Seminar in Aviemore on Thursday 23 May 2024.
