One week left to provide views on local services
The Highland Council is reminding residents, businesses and community organisations about the opportunity to provide feedback on people’s experience of living in Highland, and on access to services.
The Place Standard consultation – available here - is looking for feedback on what makes for a good place to live, work, play, and visit. It asks simple questions about people’s experience of living in Highland. Input is being encouraged at this early stage to shape future plans and inform how communities might be improved through a new Local Development Plan for Highland.

The separate consultation on Local Living – which closes on 16 August 2024 – is being run to help understand the current service provision and access to services across Highland. It scores the accessibility of 16 different services, for example shops, greenspace, leisure and schools in over 120 Highland settlements. The consultation asks about how the services have been scored before it is used in the Council’s new Local Development Plan.
The interactive Local Living map is available here and the consultation is available here.
