Emergency Road Closure Inverness High Street / Bridge Street

Scottish Water currently has a lane closure in place on Inverness High Street / Bridge Street following a water main burst outside the Town House, which has resulted in a sink hole.

The Highland Council is concerned about potential risk of further undermining of the road pavement, and have unfortunately had to take the decision to fully close the road to through traffic to investigate and rectify the damage.

The closure may require to remain in place for up to 3 days and will be implemented from 7pm tonight (Thursday 8 August 2024).

The Council has notified bus operators and they are to reroute their services during the closure period.

All parties are working together to try and minimise disruption, but some disruption is inevitable.
