Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be ten days of part-time road closures of the B851 at Flichity Bridge, Strathnairn, south of Inverness.

The part-time road closures are required to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works, to ensure safe working practices and meet other construction time constraints.

The temporary restrictions run from Monday 26 August to Friday 30 August between 0900 and 1600 and from Monday 2 to Friday 6 September between 0900 and 1600 each day.

Diversion for all vehicles (HGV’s and Light Vehicles) will be in operation via the B861, A8082, B862 between the hours of the part-time closure each day.  No local diversion for light traffic is available due to the south junction of the minor Brin-Dunlichity-Balnafoich Road with the B851 being within the extents of the works.  This is also to protect this fragile road from excessive damage.

Afternoon School transport will be affected and will have to wait until the closure reopens at 4pm.Service buses during the closure period will reroute via the diversion. Waste collections will also be re-routed.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

Advance notification signs advising the public of this closure have been erected at the site and at remote junctions, giving advance notice of the works.

The Highland Council apologises for any inconvenience.
