Council to consult on the future of Badcaul Primary School
The Highland Council will shortly be seeking the views of the local community on the future of Badcaul Primary School, in Wester Ross.
The school has been “mothballed” since January 2022.
Members of the Council's Education Committee agreed on 30 May to undertake a formal public consultation on a proposal to formally close the school, but the start of the public consultation was delayed until after the school summer holidays.
The consultation will take place under procedures set down in The Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010. The views of parents, school pupils, the local community and others will be sought over a period extending from 26 August to 11 October. A public meeting will be held in Badcaul on 10 September 2024.
The proposal papers and associated documentation will be available on the Highland Council website from 26 August, on the Council’s website at www.highland.gov.uk/schoolconsultations
