Interim Community Council Election

One Community Council to hold a postal ballot to elect Community Councillors.

Following the withdrawal period for candidates, The Highland Council can now confirm that a postal ballot will be held to decide the membership of Ardgay and District Community Council. 

Ballot papers with the candidate statements will be posted out to the eligible voters on Monday 23 September 2024. The completed ballots must be returned by no later than 12noon on Monday 14 October 2024. 

Community Councillors shall be elected on a simple majority basis.  The successful candidates will be those with the highest number of votes, with the number of successful Candidates equalling the number of vacancies. 

The counting of the votes will be broadcast live by The Highland Council on Monday 14 October 2024 from 12noon onwards.

The following community councils have received sufficient nominations and will form uncontested. 

  • Kinlochleven Community Council 
  • Strathglass Community Council
