Planned road resurfacing works on the B851 at Scatraig, Strathnairn
Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council of essential resurfacing works to the B851 at Scatraig, Strathnairn (south of Inverness) running from Monday 11 to Friday 15 November.
Traffic management arrangements affecting the B851 between the Quarry access and the A9 are as follows;
- Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 November to enable preparatory works to be carried out.
- Road Closures (part-day) on Wednesday 13 to Friday 15 November between 0900 and 1630 will be required. Temporary traffic lights will be in use outside these times. These arrangements are required to ensure safe working practices for the public and site personnel.
Diversions will be in place during the part-day road closures. All vehicles approaching from the B851 will be diverted onto the B861 towards Inverness. No access from the A9 will be allowed, with light vehicles diverted along the minor roads through Daviot and HGV’s diverted on the A9 towards Inverness.
Residents at Faillie will be affected by the works. Their access to and from their homes will be managed through the works by the contractor. A letter drop to all residents will be carried out this week providing full details.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. During the closure times, buses and waste collections will be rerouted to avoid damage to the new surfacing material.
Advance notification signs advising the public of this closure will be erected at the site this week, giving advance notice of the works.
The Highland Council apologises for any inconvenience.
