Allocation review of invitation to pay income for Ward 5

Today (Monday 11 November 2024) the Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh Area Committee met and approved the process for allocation of area invitation to pay income for Ward 5 and the addition to the current application submission process, which will now allow for a joint application from the Community Council and Development Trust or other eligible Community Group.

Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh Area Committee Co-chair, Cllr Liz Kraft said: “The income generation from the new invitation to pay scheme in our area has a total of £36,917.85 currently available for application. This is a significant addition to the Ward budget and applicants are encouraged to identify a project which is a community priority and submit an application for consideration.

“If the relevant community does not wish to submit a bid in the current financial year, the money is held and added to future income raised. Applications are submitted and processed following a similar process as per the Ward Discretionary Budget.

“Feedback from both the Community Councils survey and from Officers is that the current system of application is working well but agreed to further review the allocation process next year once the Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh Area Place Plan is complete, as it may identify agreed community priorities.”
