Ward 21 Fort William and Ardnamurchan By-Election Result

The by-election to elect a councillor to represent Ward 21 Fort William and Ardnamurchan on The Highland Council has been won by Andrew Baxter, Scottish Liberal Democrats who was one of six candidates who contested the vacancies.

Voters in the ward went to the poll yesterday (Thursday 21 November 2024) and the by-election count was held this morning in Lochaber High School.

Voting was by the single transferable vote and Andrew Baxter emerged as the winner at stage 1 of the electronic count.

The turnout was 27.3%.

He will join Councillors Sarah Fanet, Thomas MacLennan and Kate Willis in representing Ward 21 on The Highland Council.
