Highland Winter Road Conditions Report – Monday 25 November 2024

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time.  It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

School closures can be found here. Schools and nurseries are impacted by the adverse weather and are either closed or with delayed opening this morning.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Monday, 25 November 2024 are as follows:     

07:50 - Sutherland - No winter action required this morning.  Road surface temperatures above zero.  Wet and windy, no overnight issues to report.

06:56 - Ross & Cromarty (West) - Very wet last night across the network - Moy bridge was closed because of the rising water effect this caused.  After an assessment of the levels this morning, we have taken the decision to reopen it, come first light.  This is the only known event on the network. There was no winter action called last night or any other reported winter issues.

07:21 – Ross & Cromarty (East) - No winter action required this morning.  Road surface temperatures above zero.  Wet roads and wind.  No overnight issues to report.

08:24 – Inverness - Roads wet, but otherwise no known problems.

06:48 - Caithness - Wet roads and positive road surface temperatures.  No winter action required. No known issues to report.

08:47 – Lochaber - No winter action, no problems overnight.

08:08 - Skye and Raasay – No action this morning.  Positive roads surface temperatures throughout. Wet and windy.  No issues reported overnight.

08:25 – Badenoch and Strathspey - Wet roads with positive temperatures throughout the area.  No winter cation needed and no known overnight issues.

08:25 – Nairn - Wet roads with positive temperatures throughout the area. No winter cation needed and no known overnight issues.
