Highland Winter Road Conditions Report – Monday 2 December 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Monday 2 December 2024 are as follows (where treatment has been required):
Sutherland (08:12) - Damp roads and sleety showers, all routes treated as necessary.
Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh (07:48) - Treatment ongoing ahead of low road surface temperatures at daylight and in preparation for sub-zero road surface temperatures later tonight. No known issues.
Inverness, (07:40) Mild morning with wet roads, temperatures looking to drop in daylight. Covering rural routes. No known issues.
Nairn (06:37) - Treatment on Primary and Secondary routes being done to combat the dip in temperatures mid-morning. Temperatures higher than forecast but a lot of overnight surface water across the network but no known issues.
Badenoch and Strathspey, (06:36) - Treatment on Primary and Secondary routes being done to combat the dip in temperatures mid-morning. Temperatures higher than forecast but a lot of overnight surface water across the network but no known issues.
East Ross-shire, (06:31) Carrying out a light precautionary treatment to all Priority 1 and 2 roads to combat a potential dip in temperatures at daylight, and to bring up salt levels ahead of a very cold night.
