Highland Winter Road Conditions Report – Friday 06 November 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Friday 06 December 2024 are as follows:
Inverness (06:07) Wet roads with road surface temperatures set to fall this morning. Crews are covering all routes. No known issues.
Nairn (06:10) Negative temperatures on higher routes this morning with frost and ice. All routes being treated this morning. No known overnight issues.
Badenoch and Strathspey (06:11) Negative temperatures across the network this morning with frost and ice on all routes. All routes being treated as well as footpaths. No known overnight issues.
Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh ( 06:57) Negatives temperatures are forecast until mid morning when temperatures are expected to rise. Treatment is on-going. No issues to report
Ross and Cromarty East (07:24) Temperatures are higher than forecast. Primary and secondary routes are being checked and treated as a precautionary measure until daylight due to potential dips in temperature. Higher ground reporting icy patches. No overnight Issues to report.
Sutherland (08:10) Mainly wet roads over the whole county today. There is the odd sparkle in sheltered areas so roads being treated where necessary.
Caithness (08:53) Wet roads all over the area this morning. Quite windy in places. Temperatures are a lot higher than originally forecast. No action required.
Skye & Raasay (10:11) Precautionary Primary route treatments this morning. Road temperatures remaining positive and higher than forecast. No overnight issues to report.
At the time of issue there are no schools in Highland closed today due to the weather.
