Highland Winter Road Conditions Report – Tuesday, 10 December 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Tuesday, 10 December 2024 are as follows:
Inverness (06:18) Patchy grey frost on roads, gritters heading out to treat all routes.
Badenoch and Strathspey (07:07) Ice and frost across the road network this morning. All routes being treated as well as footpaths. No known overnight issues.
Nairn (07:07) Ice and frost across the road network this morning. All routes being treated as well as footpaths. No known overnight issues.
East Ross-shire (07:36) A cold but dry morning with touches of frost on any untreated surfaces. A light precautionary treatment to all Priority 1 and 2 roads to maintain salt levels.
Lochaber (08:31) All morning routes treated, some roads damp with low road surface temperatures. Slight drizzle showers throughout the area, treatment on-going by priority. No known problems overnight.
Sutherland (08:04) Low road surface temperatures and icy patches in some areas. All affected routes currently being treated in order of priority. No known issues.
Caithness (07:56) A mixture of dry and damp roads across the area, which are being treated. No issues to report.
Skye and Raasay (08:09) Generally milder than the temperatures seen recently. Precautionary treatment on-going on Primary & Secondary routes to counter the late dip in temperatures as daylight arrives. No issues to report overnight.
Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh (06:58) Another cold snap across the Ward 5 road network. Gritters are out, covering all main roads. There are no known hazards and all roads currently open to all vehicles. There were no reported overnight winter issues, and the treatments are presently ongoing.
There are no schools in Highland closed today due to the weather.
