Highland Winter Road Conditions Report – Friday, 13 December 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Friday, 13 December 2024 are as follows:
Inverness (06:18) Roads wet with isolated icy patches – gritters starting to treat all routes.
Badenoch and Strathspey (06:27) Wet and damp roads. Primary and Secondary routes being treated as well as footpaths. Other routes to be assessed when light comes in and action will be taken if needed. No known overnight issues.
Nairn (06:27) Wet and damp roads. Primary and Secondary routes being treated as well as footpaths. Other routes to be assessed when light comes in and action will be taken if needed. No known overnight issues.
East Ross-shire (07:55) Generally milder this morning with only an odd patch of frost on higher routes. Roads are either damp with salt, or dry. No overnight issues.
Lochaber (08:48) Temperature slightly higher than forecast – no problems overnight.
Sutherland (08:11) All routes mainly damp or dry. Lower temperatures on some routes and these have been treated as a precaution. No known overnight issues to report.
Caithness (08:20) Border line road surface temperatures - damp roads treated as a precaution. No overnight issues to report.
Skye and Raasay (07:38) No winter action. Positive road surface temperatures throughout the area.
