Highland Winter Road Conditions Report – Monday, 23 December 2024
The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Highland Road Conditions Report for Monday, 23 December 2024 are as follows:
Inverness (07:43) Roads wet with icy stretches on some high roads – gritters out treating where required.
Badenoch and Strathspey (08:31) Sleety showers this morning with wet roads and ice patches across the network. All routes being treated with footpaths included.
Nairn (08:32) Wet roads with ice patches across the network. All routes being treated including footpaths. No known overnight issues.
East Ross-shire (07:37) No issues as temperatures higher than forecast. Routes being checked until daylight. No overnight issues reported.
Lochaber (08:49) All primary routes completed, Corran Ferry back on this morning, no other issues reported. Temperatures have risen with wet roads and drizzle throughout.
Sutherland (08:07) Mainly damp/wet roads this morning with low road surface temperatures in places. Routes being treated as necessary with no known issues to report.
Caithness (08:02) Marginal road surface temperatures and a mix of dry and damp roads, treating all routes as necessary. No other known issues to report.
Skye and Raasay (06:10) Drivers stood down this morning. Positive road temperatures. No overnight issues advised.
Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh (07:37) Temperatures higher than forecasted. Route checks and treatments ongoing. Moy bridge closed at midnight due to levels rising. No other overnight issues reported.
