Community Council Scheme review, 2024-25

The Highland Council has launched a public consultation on how Community Councils in the area are created and governed (The Community Council Scheme Review).

The Council is keen to hear views from Community Councils and the wider public on these proposals and seeks further ideas and suggested changes to the Scheme.

The consultation will run from 16 January to 9 April 2025.

At the Special Meeting of The Highland Council in December 2024, Members agreed to the review of the Scheme and that draft proposals informed by earlier engagement with Community Councils be subject to public consultation.

The council paper can be viewed on the Council’s website at:  https://www.highland.gov.uk/meetings/meeting/5097/highland_council

A summary of minor amendments and scheme documentation with all proposals can be found at: Community Council Scheme Review 2025 | Highland Place Planning

The Council invites feedback on the proposals by completing a short survey which is available online at: https://engagehighland.co.uk/cc-scheme-review
