Timetable for Highland Council By-Elections Confirmed

The timetable for the election of one Councillor to represent Ward 6 Cromarty Firth and one Councillor for Ward 10 Eilean a' Cheò on The Highland Council has been confirmed.

The by-elections are being held following the resignations of former Councillors Maxine Smith from Ward 6 and Calum Munro from Ward 10.

The Notice of Election and timetable for these elections will be published online on Tuesday 6 May, 2025.

Prospective candidates will have until 4pm on Friday 16 May, 2025 to submit their completed nomination forms.

If the seats are contested, the polls will take place on Thursday 19 June 2005 with an electronic count taking place on Friday 20 June 2025.

Anyone over 16 years old who is living in Wards 6 or 10 is eligible to vote in these By-Elections if they are registered. To register to vote visit this website.  Alternatively, call the Electoral Registration Office on 0800 393783 to request a paper application form.  The last date to register to vote in this By-Election is midnight on Tuesday 3 June 2025.
