Nicola Wins Council Mod Competition
The Mairi Mhor Fellowship Silver kilt pin for senior learners in traditional singing has been won by Nicola Pearson of Carnoustie. Nicola received her kilt pin and trophy from Councillor Hamish Fraser, Chair of The Highland Council’s Gaelic Select Committee at the Royal National Mod in Fort William. Nicola also won the George Clavey Memorial Quaich, which is held by Fiona Mackenzie, the Mairi Mhor Fellow.
Earlier in the Mod, Philip Todd (16) from Thurso won the Mairi Mhor award for best learner in traditional singing.
