New Chairman Appointed to Education Culture and Sport Committee
Caithness Councillor Bill Fernie was today (Thursday) appointed chairman of The Highland Council’s Education Culture and Sport Committee.
Councillor Fernie, an Independent member who serves Wick, will succeed Councillor Roddy Balfour, Culloden and Ardersier, who resigned last month.
A self-employed web designer, Councillor Fernie will chair a committee which oversees a Service which has a revenue budget of £212 million and a capital budget of £12.7 million.
