The Mystery of the Picts
As part of Highland Archaeology Fortnight, local artist Sarah Barnes will be holding a special workshop for 8 to 12 year olds to explore the mysterious world of the Picts on Saturday 6 October at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.
With Sarah the young participants will look at the mystery of Pictish carvings and celebrate the unique skill of the craftsmen who made them. They will then work with Sarah to create an imaginative, mixed media response to the Belblair Stone; a stone that is even older than the Picts!
The workshop which runs from 1pm to 3pm, will also give the young people a chance to explore symbols and be encouraged to think of ways to represent themselves.
Places on the workshop are free but must be booked in advance by telephoning 01463 237114.
