Story Time In New Library
The first storytime session in the new library at Inshes was voted a great success by all the young listeners who came along on Thursday afternoon to hear popular children’s author Mairi Hedderwick read some of her stories.
Inshes Library has an excellent selection of books for all ages to enjoy as well as collections of DVDs and audio books to take out on loan. There is also a quick reference section and members of the public can also look up information on computers with free internet access. Other services include photocopying and use of a fax machine.
Librarian Angela Donald said: “The new library is a bright and welcoming room and an excellent resource as we have a wide range of books, DVDs and audio books for people of all ages and interests to enjoy. The afternoon and evening opening hours should make it easy for people working and for those based at home to come along and use the library. New members are very welcome and our staff will be happy to show them around and issue a library card which can be used in any Highland library.”
The library, which is open to the public Monday to Friday from 3.15pm to 8.15pm and from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays, is part of the new community facilities at Inshes Primary School which recently opened its doors to pupils. A gym hall with changing rooms and sporting equipment, a separate meeting room and a foyer area for exhibitions can all be hired during evenings and weekends.
