Family adventure at Glenmore

An exciting, fun family adventure is being planned in Glenmore this weekend (Sunday 17 August) when members of the public can step back in time and experience how their Celtic ancestors lived.

Participants will be able to trade with the Celts, discover their Druid’s secrets and find out how they can defend themselves from attackers.

The living history event – ‘The Coming of the Celts’ – has been organised by Highland Council and Forestry Commission Scotland Rangers.

Forestry Commission Scotland Recreation Ranger Miranda Whitcomb said: “This will be a great family day out, a little different from the norm! We are trying to make this as authentic as possible so that people will believe they are truly back with the Celts.”

Duncan Macdonald, Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger added: “The Celts were a vibrant, artistic people who have left their mark on everything around us.  This event will give a glimpse at how they lived.”

‘The Coming of the Celts’ event is part of The Highland Council’s annual programme of Ranger Guided Walks and Events which aims to help raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands.
