Public to have their say on Dingwall High Street improvements.

Members of the public are being invited by The Highland Council to a ‘drop in session’ on Saturday 13th December, from 10am to 2pm, at The Royal British Legion, High Street, Dingwall to give their views on proposed improvements for Dingwall High Street.

Following preliminary consultation for the proposed improvements scheme in December 2007, the Council’s Planning and Development Service is undertaking a second public consultation during the period from mid December to the end of January 2009.

The purpose of the consultation is to seek the public’s views on a range of options that the Council and its design consultants have produced in regard to the choice of proposed surfacing materials and street furniture to be used in the design of the improved High Street environment.

The public will be invited to indicate their preferred choices and to record any views about the proposed scheme.

Highland Councillors, Planning and Development Service staff and the Council’s design consultant will be in attendance at the consultation ‘drop in’ session where there will be display panels of the various proposals for members of the public to view.

The displays will also be available to view from Monday 15th December until Friday 30th January 2009, at the Service Point, Ross House, High Street, Dingwall and at the new Community Library at Dingwall Academy.

The proposed plans can also be viewed on the Council’s website at: http://www.highland.gov.uk/yourenvironment/planning/consultations.htm

The street improvement project is being funded by The Highland Council.
