Dingwall and Seaforth Development Partnership
People in the Dingwall and Seaforth area are being invited to have their say on how just under £400K LEADER funding will be spent in their area.
The Highland LEADER Programme was officially launched on 11th December 2008. In the Dingwall and Seaforth Ward area, LEADER will provide an initial allocation of £393,378 to promote economic and community development over the next 3 years.
The Programme will be managed locally by the Dingwall and Seaforth Development Partnership, guided by a local development plan which highlights the issues, opportunities and priorities that might be addressed.
A draft of the plan for Dingwall and Seaforth is now available for comment before it is finalised. The draft can viewed on the Council’s website at http://www.highland.gov.uk/yourcouncil/yourward/ward09/ or in paper form at the Dingwall and Muir of Ord Service Points and Muir of Ord and Dingwall Libraries.
LEADER will be an important source of funding for community groups in the Dingwall and Seaforth Ward over the next few years. It gives a real opportunity to take forward key community projects and to make the Ward area a better place for all our residents. It is important that the development plan is a true reflection of community aspirations across the Ward and the Development Partnership welcomes feedback from the public.
Anyone who is interested is invited to look though the draft plan and email their comments by 12th January 2009 to Dingwall-based consultant Sandy Anderson at: sandy@langwell.freeserve.co.uk or by post to Sandy Anderson, Langwell, Achany Road, Dingwall IV15 9JB.
Dingwall and Seaforth Development Partnership is a local steering group which is currently a sub-group of the Council’s Ward 9 Ward Forum – comprising local authority and voluntary members.
