Council Welcomes Court Ruling on Skye Wind Farm

The Highland Council has welcomed the Court of Session judgement of Lord Hodge to reject the petition of the Skye Windfarm Action Group for judicial review of decisions taken by the Council to grant planning permission for a wind farm development at Edinbane, Skye.

The Council defended the court challenge by the Action Group, who contested the legality of the decisions taken in May last year.

Councillor Drew Hendry, Chairman of the Council’s Planning Environmental and Development Services Committee said: "As a Council we are pleased to receive the ruling by Lord Hodge, which confirms the decision of our planning committee and the advice given by our planning officers. We will give detailed consideration to the 75-page judgement and take a report to the next meeting of our committee on 19 March."
