Temporary part road closure Castle Road, Inverness

The Highland Council is advising motorists that due to works being carried out by Scotland Gas Networks to install a new gas main in Castle Road, Inverness -  temporary traffic restrictions will take place from Sunday 27th January.

The effects of the traffic restrictions will be the temporary closure to northbound vehicular traffic, Castle Road from its junction with Haugh Road to its junction with Bridge Street between 00:01 hours on Sunday 27th January and 00:01 hours on Sunday 17th February, 2008.

Either lane of the carriageway may be closed at any one time, but vehicular access for southbound traffic will be maintained at all times in a one-way system.

The closure will affect vehicular traffic intending to use Castle Road from Haugh Road towards Bridge Street (northbound). Southbound vehicular traffic will remain unaffected. Pedestrian access and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

An alternative route for northbound vehicular traffic will be available using View Place, Castle Street, High Street and Bridge Street.
