The members of the Forum decided to have a Festival theme for this year’s showcase which will take place in the Tulloch Traditional Music Tent as part of the Inverness Highland Games.
The programme will include, African Drumming & Pipers, a Street dance workshop, Belly Dancing, a Chill Out Zone, Face Painting and Henna Tattoos, exhibitions by local youth organisations, the creation of a Highland Games “murla” (mural) and concerts by local Bands 11 Mile Drive; Lucie Treacher and 28 Jacks in concert.
The action will then transfer over to the giant Clan Village where the Showcase will end with concerts featuring Lowtide Revelry at 4pm and The Jyrojets at 5pm.
Youth Forum Spokesman Ben Hesling said “The whole group has worked really hard at producing a programme that will have a real festival feel to it. We wanted to create a mini RockNess and a mini Belladrum and we are really looking forward to it. We are working with other groups to see if we can make this a “Youth Clan Gathering” and it will be great to see young people from all over the Highlands interacting in a safe, fun and stimulating environment in the heart of the Highland Games!”
