Ranger trip cruises the Caithness Coast

A group of ten people recently joined Highland Council’s East Caithness Countryside Ranger, Dieter Tuerlinckx on a Geo Explorer boat trip with William Munro of SeaCoast on (Fri 11th of July).

The Caithness Coast Cruise is part of the Council’s 2008 programme of Ranger Guided Walks and Events for Caithness and Sutherland which aims to raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands.

Dieter Tuerlinckx said: “The trip was a great success and William navigated the boat to very interesting places to watch wildlife. There was plenty to see and William’s expertise and knowledge contributed to a very enjoyable experience on this trip, which lasted well over an hour. All participants had a good time and I am looking forward to next Highland Council – SeaCoast Geo Explorer boat trip which will be a Caithness Castle Cruise on the 17th September.”

Anyone wishing to book on to the next cruise should contact the Caithness Rangers on 01955 607758.

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
