Polish Storytelling Session At Inverness Library

On Saturday (7 June) Inverness Library will be hosting an event for children aged 3 – 7 celebrating Polish culture, customs and traditional tales.

The session is part of the 'Poles read to their children abroad' event which is being organized for all Polish children living in the UK by Polish Books in cooperation with Sami Swoi.  Inverness Library is one of 30 across the UK taking part.

Saturday’s free session running from 12 noon until 3pm will include storytelling of traditional Polish stories, poems and nursery rhymes, singing well known children's songs and a drawing competition.

Young children who attend the City’s Polish Saturday School have been invited as have families from the wider Polish community living in the Highlands.

The Highland Council’s Senior Librarian for Children & Families, Elizabeth Parker said:  “We are delighted that Inverness Library is hosting this event and we look forward to welcoming the children to what will be a fascinating and very enjoyable afternoon.”
