Council Begins Process of Re-procuring ICT Contract

The Highland Council is seeking interest from companies to bid for a corporate and curriculum ICT contract, which will provide the Council’s  ICT services for the next five – seven years.  The current ICT contract with Fujitsu, awarded in 1998, expires in 2009.

A procurement team is in place to secure new arrangements for ICT provisions for the council covering service management, managed desk top services, application management and infrastructure services, including telephony.

An OJEU notice has been released inviting responses to a pre-qualification questionnaire before 16 July 2008.  A bidders’ conference will be held in Inverness in early July.

The Council will be proceeding under the EU Competitive Dialogue Process in order to ensure the best possible value solution for the Council.

Independent Councillor Carolyn Wilson, Chairman of the Council’s Resources Committee, said: “ICT sits at the heart of the Council’s aims to deliver our services to the public more effectively and efficiently.  This is a hugely important procurement exercise.  We hope to attract interest from the major ICT providers.”
