Bridge Inspections Require Road Closures

Motorists are being advised of temporary closures of two Highland roads on Thursday (19 June) which are necessary to allow the inspection of bridges.
 
The A862 Telford Street – Clachnaharry – Windhill Road, Beauly, will be closed at Lovat Bridge, one mile south-west of Beauly, between 6.30 pm and 10.30 pm.

The  A831 Drumnadrochit – Cannich – Beauly Toll Road will be closed at Cannich Bridge  between 1  pm and  4.30 pm.
 
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian access will be controlled by the Contractor.
 
At Lovat Bridge, alternative routes for vehicles will be available using the A862 Telford Street – Clachnaharry – Windhill Road (Part) (before and after Lovat Bridge); A831 Drumnadrochit – Cannich – Beauly Toll Road; C29 Kiltarlity – Eskadale – Kerrow Road; C28 Fanellan Road and U1604 Kiltarlity Road. It is recommended that Heavy Goods Vehicles use the A9 London – Edinburgh – Thurso Trunk Road by way of the Kessock Bridge. The alternative routes will be signposted, during the period of the closure in accordance with the Traffic Management Plan approved by the Roads Authority.
 
At Cannich Bridge, alternative routes for vehicles will be available using the A831 Drummnadrochit – Cannich – Beauly Toll Road (Part) (before and after Cannich Bridge); A862 Telford Street – Clachnaharry – Windhill Road and the A833 Milton – Phoineas (Brochies Corner). The alternative routes will be signposted, during the period of the closure in accordance with the Traffic Management Plan approved by the Roads Authority.
