City Roads Closed To Traffic During Half Marathon
The Inverness Half Marathon and Fun Run takes place on Sunday 9 March and motorists in the city are being warned that during the event, roads along the route will be temporarily closed to traffic.
From 12.30 to 3.30pm Bught Road will be closed at its junction with Glenurquhart Road to the junction with Ness Walk Upper. Ness Walk Upper will be closed during the same period at its con-junction with Bught Road to its junction with Bishop’s Road. Alternative routes for drivers will be available using part of Bishops Road, Ballifeary Road, Ballifeary Lane, Bught Avenue, Bughts Drive and Glenurquhart Road.
From 11am to 3.00pm Castle Road will be temporarily closed to northbound traffic between its junction with Haugh Road and its junction with Bridge Street. Southbound traffic will flow as normal.
The B862 Fort Augustus to Inverness Road will be closed to northbound traffic from its junction with the Holm Road roundabout to its junction with the Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road from 11am to 3pm. Southbound traffic will not be affected.
These temporary closures will affect vehicle drivers only. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
