Behind The Tide Event

The Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger John Orr is leading a guided walk on to the mudflats and sandbanks of Ardersier Bay giving people a fascinating chance to safely look at areas of the Moray Firth usually covered by the tide.

The walk, suitable for all ages, takes place on Sunday 11th May from 11am to 1pm.

John said: “We will be looking at what small creatures live in the mud flats and sand banks of the Moray Firth and how they help sustain a wealth of wildlife further up the food chain.”

The meeting up point is at the Ardersier Common Car Park between Ardersier & Fort George (Grid reference NH779558). Children must be accompanied by an adult and as the route will be following the tide out onto the mudflats, everyone coming along should bring along wellington boots to wear.  For more information John can be contacted by telephoning 01463 702932

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
