Invitation To Join With Fellow Residents

A few residents hope others living in their part of Dingwall will join with them as they try to set up their own residents group.

Residents in the Fingal Road, Peffery Road, Gladstone Ave, Grant St, Millcraig Rd, Bridaig Sq, Dewar Sq, Seaforth Gardens, Meiklefield Rd and Meiklefield Square area of Dingwall are being invited to come along to a public meeting next week (Wednesday, 21 May) to discuss the way ahead for a possible community group.

The meeting is being held in the Dingwall County Buildings on Wednesday, 21 May at 7pm.

Carol Elliot, The Highland Council Tenant Participation Officer, who is helping the residents get together said an enthusiastic residents group could make a real difference to the local community.

"Having a residents group means the community can do things for itself and has a stronger say in what it thinks can improve its neighbourhood and homes," she said.

"You may think you are alone in wanting to improve things, but others may feel the same way too.  By getting together and addressing common concerns, things get done.  As those groups formed in the Dochcarty and Tulloch Wood areas of Dingwall in the last year or so have proved."

Anybody interested in setting up a residents group in their area can contact Carol on 01349 877408.
