Bus services are focus of Ness-side Forum

Local people in The Highland Council’s Inverness Ness-side Ward have an opportunity to hear directly from bus operator Stagecoach this Thursday night (6th November).  The main subject for discussion is local bus services and Stagecoach is to participate in the forum.  The venue is Green Drive Hall and the forum begins at 7.30pm (doors are open at 7 p.m. when refreshments will be available).  The forum is open to all to attend, and there is always an opportunity to ask questions about each item.  Also, there is a 20-minute open “question and answer” slot towards the end.

Community Councils and the Council’s working partner agencies, such as the Northern Constabulary, also take an active part in the forum, which will be chaired by Steve Rodger, the Chairman of Holm Community Council.
Ness-side Councillor David Henderson encouraged people to attend.  He said: “There have been ongoing issues with our local bus services.  This is an excellent opportunity for residents to ask questions of Stagecoach and for the company to explain to the community what is happening.”

Steve said: “If you have been affected by the recent changes in bus services please attend the Forum.  This is an opportunity to express your views on what should and shouldn’t happen in future.”

Also on the agenda on Thursday is the Council’s increased effort to tackle the problems of litter and dog fouling.

Notes

1. Ward Forums have been set up across the Highlands to help people have their say about what is happening in their area. The forum meets regularly and is led by the Councillors for the Ward.  The Ness-side Ward Councillors are Norrie Donald, John Finnie, David Henderson and Fraser Parr.

2. You can use an online form to submit questions or comments for the forum to consider, even if you can’t attend on the night.   The form is available on the Council web site; http://www.www.highland.gov.uk/  (from this home page click on “Council Wards” then “Ward 16” then “Ward Forum”).  To make sure the messages are picked up please don’t leave this until the last few hours before the meeting.   Alternatively, you can contact the Ward Managers’ office on Inverness 724222.
