Brora streetscape enhancements consultation day
Residents in the Brora area are invited to an informal drop in session to view outline proposals for the improvements to the streetscape in the vicinity of Fountain Square and Gower Street.
The session will provide an opportunity for those who live in Brora to have their say on outline plans that have been developed as part of an £80k project currently being taken forward by the Council’s Planning and Development Service for implementation in early 2009. The project aims to enhance the quality of streetscape in the village centre by up-grading footways, the Fountain and the frontage to the Co-op car park.
The plans for the streetscape will be on display in an exhibition at the Library, Gower Street, Brora, from 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 20th November 2008. Council representatives will be on hand for informal discussion and there will be an opportunity to make comments and give feedback on the proposals.
Highland Councillor for East Sutherland and Edderton, Deirdre Mackay said: “I welcome this initiative which gives us the opportunity to improve the Fountain Square area which borders the A9. This area has been the hub of the village for many years and the fountain itself is a local feature. I urge everyone with an interest in Brora to make their opinions known about the proposals for the streetscape.”
