Bringing it all together – the Highland Wiki Competition

The Highland Council is seeking help from the public to create the name for a proposed new Highland WIKI – an interactive database of Highland-based groups, clubs and societies.  Driven by Highland Libraries in partnership with the voluntary sector, the WIKI will provide a Highland-wide resource for community information.

Entries should be emailed to: libraries@highland.gov.uk, mentioning “Competition” in the subject field.  Entries will be judged by an independent panel. The winner will receive a £50 book token.  The closing date is Friday 24 October 2008.

The WIKI is being developed thanks to a Scottish Government grant of £24,166, which has allowed the Council to employ a project co-ordinator  - and permitted each of our three Area Libraries Officers to offer 300 hours work in their areas to community groups (or individuals) to collect and enter the initial information.

Once we have a name for this exciting initiative we will be able to move forward and everyone will be invited to contribute their information to this community resource.
