Hungry Caterpillar event at Glen Urquhart Library

Members of the local community in Drumnadrochit will meet at Glen Urquhart Library and Learning Centre this Saturday 6 September, 2008 at 10:30am to view the unveiling of a “Very Hungry Caterpillar” wall hanging.

The wall hanging was created at felt making workshops over the school holidays which were attended by local people during the school holidays. The felts were made by children, mums and grannies.

Suzanne Irvine, local felt maker and story teller will lead a story telling session on Saturday morning about “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” which is a children’s illustrated story book by Eric Carle.

Librarian Christine Matheson at Glen Urquhart Library and Learning Centre said: “Everyone is looking forward to the unveiling of the very hungry caterpillar which will take pride of place in the library. I would like to thank everyone for all their efforts during the summer workshops and hope that they are pleased with the end result.”

The felt making and story telling sessions are part of a series of events organised in local libraries throughout the Highlands by The Highland Counci’s Education, Culture and Sport Service.
