Development Plan Scheme

The Highland Council has submitted its first statutory Development Plan Scheme to Scottish Ministers.  The Development Plan Scheme 2009 sets out timescales for delivering the Highland Wide Local Development Plan and other important pieces of work over the next year.

Stuart Black, Director of Planning and Development said: “This is the first step in the production of our new local development plan in partnership with Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Water and Transport Scotland. The Development Plan Scheme 2009 sets out what we hope to achieve and how members of the community can get involved in the plan making process. Individuals and organisations are invited to let us know what they think of the Development Plan Scheme and suggest any amendments or improvements.”

The Development Plan Scheme is available from the home page of the Council’s web site: http://www.www.highland.gov.uk/ as well as in libraries, Council Service Points and in all Highland Council offices that contain planning officers.
