Ardersier beach clean and barbeque
The seashore at Ardersier is strewn with paper and plastic after the winter storms. Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers are organising a beach clean day (Sunday 26th April 2-5pm) to clear things up before summer arrives.
John Orr, Countryside ranger for Inverness East and Nairn said: “We always seem to have a problem with litter along this shoreline after the winter storms, some of it probably originated in Inverness and has been blown all the way up the Firth to here! This is a chance for people to help to improve the look of there local area by giving up a little of their time to help us out. To encourage help there will be a free barbeque at the end of the afternoon!”
Litter pickers and bags will be provided but helpers are asked to please bring their own gloves. Meet at Ardersier picnic site car park, between Ardersier & Fort George (grid ref. NH 779 558) For more information call John Orr on tel: 01463 702932. No unaccompanied children please.
The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
