Inverness Christmas Market postponed
The Inverness Winter Festival organisers have announced that the Christmas Market scheduled for Saturday 12 December and Sunday 13 December has been postponed following a lower than expected demand for places for free stalls at the riverside event.
Highland Councillor Glynis Sinclair said: “Unfortunately the recent bad weather caused a number of folk to change their minds about taking part in the Christmas Market which we were organising in response to a number of requests to do so. It is disappointing that it cannot go ahead but an important part of our Festival is trying new things and learning what does and does not work.
We are still keen to hold a market on the riverside at some point and we will be looking at the idea again as part of the programme for the Inverness Summer Festival. At the moment Inverness Highland Games weekend in July seems to be a popular choice for an alternative date.”
