Volunteers wanted to take part in tree planting event
Glenurquhart Community Library and Abriachan Forest Trust are partners in the B.B.C. Breathing Places event which takes place on Saturday (5th December) and volunteers are being sought to help with a world record event.
During National Tree Week, Tree O'Clock is a world record attempt to plant the most trees in one hour. Organisers plan to plant as many native trees as possible within 60 minutes to enhance the biodiversity of the Abriachan Community Forest.
Anyone wishing to come along as a volunteer should meet at the Abriachan Forest Trust car park from between 10am and 10.30am. A free minibus will run from Glenurquhart Library from 9.30am onwards. Places should be pre-booked by telephoning 01456 459223 or 01463 861278. Please wear warm clothes and strong shoes and be prepared for all weathers.
The tree planting record attempt will start at 11.00am and all tools and refreshments will be provided.
