Traffic Management Measures Introduced Near Eden Court

Traffic management measures are to be introduced near Eden Court, Inverness, from Monday 28 November, when works commence on the refurbishment of the theatre complex.

A temporary one-way system will be in force until at least Saturday 3 December  2006 on Bishop’s Road from its junction with Bishop’s Park to its junction with Ness Walk in the direction of River Ness and the city centre ie from west to east. Cyclists will be exempt from these restrictions.

Employees of The Highland Council are being asked to access Council Headquarters via the main entrance on Glenurquhart Road or via Glenurquhart Road and onto Bishop’s Road. Vehicles exiting on to Bishop’s Road, from the Council car park, will be diverted left.

Other road users approaching Bishop’s Road from Ardross Street along Ness Walk will be re-directed along Ness Walk, Ballifeary Lane and Ballifeary Road.

The Contractor, Robertson, is to construct a new access from Bishop’s Road into the Council’s Car Park and the existing access will be stopped-up. This is programmed to happen fairly early into the contract. However, it is not clear if this will result in access being denied but if that is the case it should only be for a few days. An update will be issued in due course.
