New Public Office Opens in Golspie

A new public office is opening in Golspie on Monday 14 December, which will see The Highland Council, Northern Constabulary and the Citizens Advice Bureau join forces to share premises.

The East Sutherland CAB already operates from Olsen House on the High Street and they will be joined  by the Council’s Service Point and money advice staff as well as the police.

The move has been warmly welcomed by the three Highland councillors for East Sutherland and Edderton – Councillors Deirdre Mackay, Ian Ross and Jim McGillivray.

Councillor Ross said “I am delighted to that the new Service Point is opening on Monday 14 December. Sharing premises with the Police and East Sutherland Citizens Advice Bureau reduces the costs for each organisation, promotes joint working and ensures the continuity of the these services in Golspie. I am sure that many people will find the new arrangements very convenient.”

Northern Constabulary Chief Constable Ian Latimer said: "North Division is very pleased with the move which will maintain and enhance the police presence in Golspie. We are committed to working closely with partners and this is an excellent example of this. Much hard work has been put into the project and without that commitment and enthusiasm this would not have been possible.”

The estimated cost of the move is £80,000, which will be shared amongst the partners.
