Councillors urged to back Fest-aid
The Highland Council’s Inverness City Committee is being recommended to contribute £800 from the Inverness Winter Festival budget towards the costs of a concert to raise funds for the Friends of the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre at Burnett Road, Inverness.
Festaid is being staged at the Ironworks, Academy Street, Inverness on Thursday 17 December, starting at 8 pm. Tickets cost £5.
The fundraiser for the MS Centre has been created round the Community Ceilidh Trail. During the Winter Festival period teams of musicians fill the streets of Inverness with song, dance and music. Several of the artists already performing in and around the streets of Inverness will be performing at the Ironworks venue.
The Festaid line-up includes:- Jim Hunter, Broch Inspectors, Feis a Bhale, Matthew MacLennan, and DJ Andi Candoo.
They will present a traditional music show until 11 pm when a Celtic Rock Christmas Party disco will take over.
